The Black Witch (The Black Witch #1) by Laurie Forest
One of my Most Anticipated Book Releases of May 2017. I was able to get just past the halfway point of The Black Witch this week and I am really enjoying it. This story is well written and developing nicely! I am really excited to finish up this book this week. The Copper Promise (The Copper Cat #1) by Jen Williams
I continued reading The Copper Promise with a fellow GR friend and reviewer (Follow her Instagram @haileesbooksandstuff). I am enjoying this book but I have been reading through it in tiny bits at a time. But still a lot of snark, a lot of brutal stuff, and definite Indiana Jones vibes … AND DRAGONS! So basically ALL GREAT THINGS! I am very much looking forward to reading more of this story over the following week.
When Dimple met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
One of my Most Anticipated Book Releases of May 2017, this book is full of cute interactions and cultural discussions. I was able to get to the halfway point just last night and so far it is a solid cute contemporary read. This book is not pure fluff though. It goes over a few societal issues along the way and I think very tastefully done. The writing is good and the characters are enjoyable. I have had a few issues with this book so unfortunately I don’t foresee it being a solid 5 star rating from me … but most people have loved this book through and though and I can see why.

A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) by Sarah J. Maas
Oh boy … this book was top 5 most anticipated books of 2017 and what a disappointment! Which means the year of disappointment continues! So far only 2 of my top 5 has paid off … and this book was not one of them!
I’m not going to waste a lot of time complaining here because you can read my A Court of Wings and Ruin “Rant-view” if you need to see all the ways this book let me down!
Anyway … I rated this 2/5 stars and cried big raging tears because this book was an utter catastrophe of anticipation and hype!
Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas
This book was a decent read but it in no way rocked my world. It had serious potential but it was just a little bit flat and anticlimactic. This book was … beige. I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it. It was a decent read with little passion from me one way or the other. Probably best for a rainy day or a camping/beach read where you need a book that doesn’t require an intense amount of concentration. Still enjoyable though. I rated this book a middle of the road 3/5 stars.
The Magicians (The Magicians #1) by Lev Grossman
This week I listened to this book as and audiobook and really did enjoy it. The narrator was well chosen for this one and it added to the experience in a positive way. I was expecting a story with a ton of magic and maybe even a Hogwart’s type cast with a Narnia twist. Which essentially is what I got … only more. This is not your childhood Hogwarts … and it not your childhood Narnia. This was actually a raw accounting of life, college, friendship, mistakes, and struggle. What do you do when you get everything your heart desired … and it becomes a curse? What do you do when your dream world becomes a reality … and it still doesn’t make you happy? I have not yet written a review for this book nor have I been able to figure out how I will rate it. This is the type of book that gets you thinking more and more … finding the deeper tones … the deeper meanings the further from it you get. I believe I will be somewhere around a 3.5/5 stars for this read.

When this approval came through from Netgalley I was shocked! Literally shocked. Because I was honestly crazy excited to receive an ARC of one of my most anticipated reads of the year! I really and truly cannot want to dive into this one once I clear my currently reading list!

This next week I will be finishing up a few things on my Currently Reading list and adding a whole lot of new reads to the list!
My phone recently broke so I have not been posting to Instagram because of it. But this issue should be remedied sometime this week when I will be flooding the Insta-feed!
I also look forward to posting so many new reviews! I’m feeling super productive right now and hopefully it hold up!
