IS ANYONE ELSE AS EXCITED AS I AM FOR THE RETURN OF GAME OF THRONES SEASON 7?!?!
It’s basically a holiday over here at my house because this is better than Christmas guys ❤
So in honor of this beautiful show’s return and my inability to contain my epic fangirling any longer … I decided to post this awesome Game of Thrones Book Tag I found over at Thrice Read (check out this fantasitc blog!).
This awesome tag was originally created by BiblioNyan whose blog I totally just stalked and fell in love with! Check it out!
So let the fangirling begin shall we ❤
HOUSE LANNISTER: HEAR ME ROAR – Name a book that you originally loved, but upon a re-read realized that it wasn’t so great after all.
I actually don’t re-read a lot of books. I am always afraid that when I re-read a book it will not live up to my first experience so I just don’t. The books I have re-read recently though have not disappointed and some of them have actually improved the second time around …
I will have to pass on this one
HOUSE STARK: WINTER IS COMING – Name your most anticipated book release for 2017.
Many of my Most Anticipated Book Releases of 2017 have already been released and read … but out of the ones still to come I would have to say that I am currently most excited for …
Wonder Woman: Warbringer (DC Icons #1) by Leigh Bardugo
I have written about my life-long obsession of Wonder Woman before … which basically amounts to me wanting to BE Diana since I was like 7 when I used to don a WW costume and pretend I was badass bouncing around the living room (Another picture of me I need to find and post someday).
I recently went to see the new Wonder Woman film in theaters … and then I went and saw it again. I cried both times because it was JUST SO BEAUTIFUL!!! So let’s just say … I’M EXCITED FOR THIS BOOK okay ❤
HOUSE TARGARYEN: FIRE AND BLOOD – Name a book that you felt completely slayed with fantastic characters, plot, pacing, etc.
I can think of several fantastic examples for this one … but of course …
Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo
comes to mind straight away!
This series is everything I swear! Talk about living up to expectation and hype! This series quickly became the series by which all other books are judged.
Example (talking about another book). Me: “It’s such a good book … I mean it’s not Six of Crows good but it was really great.”
Seriously I have never loved ALL the characters in a series as much as I did these guys ❤ … and the story! And the adventure! And the world! This series is absolutely a piece of my soul!
HOUSE BARATHEON: OURS IS THE FURY – Name a book that ended with a cliffhanger ending that genuinely pissed you off.
Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices #2) by Cassandra Clare
This is possibly one of the worst cliffhangers of all time! It literally stops dead in the middle of the action … RIGHT IN THE FREAKING MIDDLE!
LIKE WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT?!?!?!? WHO?!?!?!
Cassie Clare that’s who … ugh!
Now I have to wait 2 fricking years for the next installment! This is torture!!!! Cruel and unusual punishment I tell you!
Ok but this book still owns a piece of my soul 🙂
HOUSE MARTELL: UNBOWED. UNBENT. UNBROKEN. – Name a book, or book series, that’s been on your TBR since the dawn of time.
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
This is one of those books that has just been hanging out on my TBR for a lifetime … But I have Kindle Unlimited right now and this book is free on KU so maybe I will make a true effort to cram this one into my already out of control Currently Reading list …
Maybe …
HOUSE BOLTON: OUR BLADES ARE SHARP – Name the most graphic or disturbing book that you’ve ever read.
Prince of Thorns (The Broken Empire #1) by Mark Lawrence
Ok so confession time but … Ramsay Bolton is like one of my top fictitious crushes … OMG I KNOW! My friends think I’m sick but I can’t help it you guys! Anyway … spoilers … so I will not say any more about it 😛
Obviously I like the demented fuckers *shrugs*
So when I picked up Prince of Thorns I was immediately hooked … it literally starts off with murder and bodies and exposed intestines which was all I needed to know I would be in love with Jorg (even though he’s a bit young in this book … I can’t wait till I get to Emperor of Thorns and my crush is a bit more acceptable lol). But the brutal doesn’t end there! This book is filled with brutal and graphic moments that I really did enjoyed. I know there are more graphic books out there (though admittedly I have not read them) but I felt like this one gave me the perfect amount.
I am reading King of Thorns now but I have not gotten too far into it but I hear there are several cringe worthy brutal scenes in it as well (I’m here for it).
Ok but seriously … I can’t be the only person who finds this little shit to be extremely attractive can I? Like all I need is a guy to look at me like this …
HOUSE TYRELL: GROWING STRONG – Name a book, or book series, that gets better and better with every re-read.
Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown
I am answering this one with the series because I feel like this is one of those stories that you HAVE to read the full story together to get the full effect and full brilliance of it. Part of it will simply not do! There is so much growth and intricacy to this story and this world and these characters and even though I have read this series at least 5 times … I still find new details I missed before. It’s a beautifully brutal and action packed story with so much real life emotions and heartbreak I just can’t! IT’S SO GOOD! AHH! Great now I want to re-read them all again 😛
I would love to hear what house you would want to be a part of! Comment below!
This is so great, I’ll have to do it soon!

I just researched the best fantasy novels in 2017 and Mark Lawrence was one of them. I’m going to get the audiobook, need to find out what it’s all about. I’m glad I read the bit about the cliffhanger about Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices #2) by Cassandra Clare 😀 I’m not going to start this series until it’s all done – lol. And I really need to read Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo I have both audiobooks I just need to pick them up. But I think that will be right after finishing A Conjuring of Light. Wonderful post!!

Thank you!
As a warning … I first tried Lawrence’s Prince of Thorns as an audiobook but it was really hard to follow. I audio nearly everything but these books jump storylines from present to 5 years ago … and while the physical book has a label for these time jumps … the audio does not let you know what time period you are in so it became frustrating for me.
Also I did not like the Six of Crows audio at all … I mean the story is epic! But the audio really detracted from it for me personally. I was not impressed with the performance. I recently did a re-read of SoC where I listened to the audio and had to stop it and pick up the book because it was ruining the book for me. Hopefully you have better luck than I did!
Are you listening to ACOL or reading? That was another one I thought the audio was not as good on. You basically listed all the series I tell people to stay away from on audio in one comment! lolol
Ugh I sort of wish I had waited on LoS … but my will is not that strong so there is no way I could have gone another 3 years before diving back into Clare’s world … but that cliffy is atrocious!
I hope you enjoy all of your books! Happy reading ❤

OMG – lol!!!! I bought Six of Crows, started it and stopped again. I’m really hoping I can get back into it, everybody loves this book. And since I’ve bought the audible version I should at least use it.
The jumping back and forth is hard especially if you can’t see it visually at all and there is nothing in the audiobook that indicates the jump. I’ll have to think about it. But I usually love the listening to theses high fantasy novels more than reading them.
I listened to Brandon Sanderson’s Stromlight Archive – 44 hours of the most AMAZING book of all times. So, I thought getting a few other fantasy books as audiobook would be a great idea.
Are the books that we’ve talked about narrated by ONE or more narrators?

SoC is narrated by a full cast … to all six characters have different narrators … I did not like it at all!
ACOL has multiple narrators as well and while I love Kate Reading in The Wheel of Time … she does not do the best Lila Bard for me 😦
Prince of Thorns has only one narrator
I am currently reading The Way of Kings! I have been bouncing between the audio and the physical book on that one though and I actually think I prefer the physical … which is odd because I typically like audio for fantasy as well! I mean I like the audio on it as well.
Some of my favorite audio adaptations of all time are:
Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown (one of the best audios I have heard! One narrator)
The Lunar Chronicles (one narrator)
Monsters of Verity (one narrator)
Daughter of Smoke and Bone (one narrator)
Wheel of Time (2 narrators)

You are reading The Way of Kings!!!! Awesome!! When I started with A Gaterhign of Shadows I couldn’t believe my ears – it was the same two narrators as Stormligth Archive – it helped so much!! I usually love dual narrators more than just one.
6 narrators is a bit much!! yikes
I’ll put Red Rising, Monsters of Verity and Daughter of Smoke and Bone on my request list. Thank you so much for the detailed answers. 😀

Oh I meant to ask … have you ever tried Overdrive for your audiobooks? Overdrive is connected to your local library system and allows you to check out audiobooks and ebooks through your library account at no charge. The content is delivered straight to your app.
If you haven’t looked into it I highly recommend!

Yes:D that’s my first place to look but not all of the my want-to-read books are available on Overdrive so I have audible for the books that I really want or can’t get any other way.:D

Same 🙂
I’m always surprised at how many people don’t know about Overdrive so I try to spread the word 🙂

I didn’t until someone told me. Before that I always got the CDs from the library. Of course that ended up with me paying late fees 😀 So, of course I fell in love with Overdrive – no more late fees .

I am a Targaryen – which is cool. I was almost a Lannister and that scared the living shit out of me.

We bought a special Game of Thrones beer about 6 months ago in anticipation of the new season. Plus, we get ice cream treats every Sunday in celebration as well. 🙂

I do hope you get a chance to read the Handmaid’s Tale. Such a classic dystopian. I was really glad I read it. You’ll have to let me know what you think of it when you do get a chance to squeeze it in!

OMG this tag ❤ ❤ I'm so, so happy GoT is airing again T_T
I can't wait for Wonder Woman, it sounds so amazing! And it's Leigh Bardugo, I mean, what could go wrong there?
I actually don't really like Ramsey and never did hahaha I love his eyes, though, they're absolutely beautiful. His personality is so despicable, though, that it kind of ruins it for me XD

honestly … I am totally the odd ball in my Ramsay obsession … my friends make fun of me all the time … I don’t know why omg I need therapy lol
Leigh Bardugo writing Wonder Woman is basically everything in life I ever needed … I hope it lives up to my expectations because they are astronomical right now!
