Monday is the day I get my life together … cleaning the house, grocery shopping, you know … all the boring adulting type things. So needless to say … I don’t get a lot of reading time in. Luckily I have a bit of an obsession with audiobooks which happen to be the perfect way to read and adult at the same time! This is where I post about my audio-reads on Mondays when I can.
So, what am I listening to this Monday?
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers #1) by Becky Chambers
Narrated by: Rachel Dulude
Release Date: July 5, 2016
Duration: 14:23:00
(Goodreads Synopsis ):
“Somewhere within our crowded sky, a crew of wormhole builders hops from planet to planet, on their way to the job of a lifetime. To the galaxy at large, humanity is a minor species, and one patched-up construction vessel is a mere speck on the starchart. This is an everyday sort of ship, just trying to get from here to there.
But all voyages leave their mark, and even the most ordinary of people have stories worth telling. A young Martian woman, hoping the vastness of space will put some distance between herself and the life she‘s left behind. An alien pilot, navigating life without her own kind. A pacifist captain, awaiting the return of a loved one at war.
Set against a backdrop of curious cultures and distant worlds, this episodic tale weaves together the adventures of nine eclectic characters, each on a journey of their own. ”

Elise @ The Bookish Actress (check out her amazing blog! She always has great content and powerful discussions) recommended this one to me a while back and I am FINALLY getting around to reading it! I’m pretty excited because so many people have told me how great it is … and Elise raved a bit about the diversity reps in this … and she is basically my go to for diversity rep recommendations ❤
I only go through about 20 minutes of this audiobook last night but so far so good … The writing is good, the world in interesting, and I am totally in the mood for a sci fi!
Also FYI … I think I’m adding this one to my list of favorite narrations 😉
What are you reading today? I would love to hear your thoughts. Comment below!

I love listening to audiobooks while I do my chores! It actually makes them tolerable hahaha (who LIKES to adult anyway?)
I’m currently reading The Hundredth Queen. I got it through NG and was hopeful about it but, eh, so far not so impressive…

Ugh yeah I have heard that about THQ … I was going to read it on my Kindle (it’s free for Kindle Unlimited right now) … but I have head mostly all “meh” reviews so … maybe Ill pass

Yeah I would probably pass if I were you…
It’s not bad but it’s not good either. It just has a lot of issues in my opinion. Yet it’s not unlikeable? Sigh. I guess “meh” would be a perfect description for it hahaha

I’m not really one for audiobooks, just cause, for some weird reason, I never end up liking the characters voices – lol… I guess I just like to imagine for myself what a particular character would sound like. I’ve heard awesome things about The Long Way and it’s been on my TBR for months now… I definitely plan on getting to it as soon as I get through all my ARCs (if I ever do *eek*).
I just finished reading Mrs. Fletcher from Tom Perrotta which a humorous novel that calls into question issues of gender and sexuality, I would definitely recommend for mature audiences.
I look forward to reading more from you soon… Happy Reading! 🙂
